Why the name "Kalchi" (kal-chi)?

Kalchi is derived from Sanskrit word "Kalchik" which means a ladle or serving spoon. Kalchi represents India, the Kalchi represents tradition.

2015

Payal and Sudeep after quitting their corporate jobs, had started their first startup in sports, Talentspeak. With the idea of imparting life skill sthrough the medium of sports, they were conducting training programmes in unconventional sports like archery, judo, basketball and swimming.

2016

Talentspeak was conducting high level sports training programmes in companies, schools & community centres & Decathlon stores across major cities in India. They were approached by Decathlon, to set up a health cafe in their experience centre cum corporate office in Bangalore. As sports and nutrition goes hand-in hand, the founders grabbed the opportunity and that's how their foray in food business started.

2017

The busy couple was struggling to meet growing demands of nutrition for their young children. Upon interacting with hundreds of cafes' customers they understood that they shared the common pain-point. The couple hired an experienced an experienced Chef and began trials in Payal's home kitchen. With customer feedback, they developed easy, nutritious & tasty Ready to-eat spreads.

They were approached by the top retailers like Big Bazaar, Nature's Basket, Hypercity, Spar & Foodhall to place the promising products at their stores across India.
